Upgrading Pricing Tiers

Challenge uses metered usage with graduated pricing tiers. This guide explains how to upgrade your pricing tier when you need more challenge capacity.

Overview

Challenge pricing is based on metered usage with the following tiers:

  • Starter: $49/month for 0-100 challenges, $0.80/challenge overage
  • Growth: $149/month for 0-400 challenges, $0.55/challenge overage
  • Scale: $499/month for 0-2000 challenges, $0.35/challenge overage
  • Unlimited: $999/month with fair use policy of 20,000 challenges/month

Why Manual Process?

Stripe’s customer portal does not support subscription changes for metered usage products with graduated tiers. This is a limitation of how Stripe handles metered billing, which requires manual processing for tier upgrades.

How to Upgrade

1. Contact Support

Send an email to support@veraproof.io with the following information:

  • Subject: Challenge Pricing Tier Upgrade Request
  • Current Tier: Your current pricing tier
  • Desired Tier: The tier you want to upgrade to
  • Account Email: The email address associated with your Challenge account
  • Reason: Brief explanation of why you need the upgrade (optional)

2. Support Processing

Our support team will:

  1. Verify your account and current usage
  2. Process the tier upgrade in Stripe
  3. Update your subscription to the new tier
  4. Confirm the upgrade via email

3. Effective Date

  • Upgrades typically take effect immediately or on your next billing cycle
  • You’ll receive prorated billing for the remainder of your current billing period
  • Future charges will reflect the new tier pricing

Downgrading

If you need to downgrade to a lower tier:

  1. Contact support at support@veraproof.io
  2. Specify the tier you want to downgrade to
  3. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period
  4. You’ll continue to have access to your current tier’s capacity until the period ends

Enterprise Pricing

For organizations with:

  • Very high usage (exceeding Unlimited tier fair use policy)
  • Multiple months of consistent overages
  • Custom billing requirements
